Street Light is an organization with operations in Norway and the Philippines which is headed by Erlend Johannesen,
a dynamic 23 year old who has left his life in Norway in order to provide to the Street Children a centre in which
they can recover from drug addiction, participate in school studies and, most importantly, be fed on a regular
basis. Recently, Street Light has purchased a 40,000 square feet warehouse which is being transformed into a
dormitory, recreation center and school for the street children of Tacloban. This is an amazing feat that YRAP
applauds and wishes to support.

A portion of the funding would be used in order to send a group of YRAP volunteers to the Philippines in May of
2007 in order to assist in the development of programs aimed at furthering street children’s awareness of their
rights to education, healthcare and employment standards. Additionally, one of the key goals of this mission
abroad would be to create a computer database of all Street Children in order to allow for the prevention of youth
lost to kidnapping: an issue that is all too prevalent in this region. These goals will be performed in
collaboration with the organizations listed above and their invaluable knowledge of the Tacloban City culture and
needs.
